How to get rid of a mildew smell in my Coffee Pot?

I have one of the Mr. Coffee coffee brewers that is stainless steel with many options on how you want your coffee brewed. I’m not sure the model number. I have left the lid open overnight to let the water evaporate out and everything and it STILL smells like dampness. It’s affecting my coffee taste and I hate it! Please help!!!

Put about a cup of white vinegar (don’t use the apple cider vinegar) into your coffee pot and fill it the rest of the way with water. Run it through your coffeemaker just like when you make coffee (no filter or anything needed). Rinse your coffee pot, do it again. Then run nothing but clear water through once or twice and that should do it. Works for me everytime. My mother’s been using this process for years and it always works. Good luck.
