If you buy coffee wholesale directly from the roaster you have a much better chance of receiving fresh beans (this is not always the case.) Thanks to increased consumer awareness and demand, there are many fine coffee roasters that specialize in certified organic and Fair Trade coffees. Even if you don’t care about how the coffee is grown, or if the farmers received a fair wage, your customers do. If you can find wholesale coffee that has the added bonus of being certified organic and Fair Trade you may attract more customers in the long run. So, I would seriously encourage you to source your wholesale coffee from an ethical Coffee Roaster that is socially minded. It is good if you can find a roaster that specializes in certified organic and Fair Trade coffee.

Everyone loves fresh coffee. This is one of the most important things to think about when looking for a wholesale coffee supplier. Some coffee roasters will simply stock up on roasted coffee, so the freshness may not be there. Find out if the roaster you’re considering will fresh roast your coffee for you after the order is placed.

How will you be selling your coffee? Do you plan to just serve prepared coffee, or have you considered pre packaged coffee as well? It doesn’t just stop there. You can find roasters that will provide you with a custom label option so you can promote your brand and business image.

In closing I suggest you spend time speaking with your wholesale coffee provider. If they are effective at communication then you will have a much easier time getting what you want. If they don’t have time to speak with you then you are wasting your time and should find a different wholesale coffee roaster.
